Competition for the redesign for the center of Savièse
The Confetti project combines old and new, connects different centers and lays the foundation for future stories.
A sequence of public outdoor spaces, combined with different building typologies, should become the basis of the transformation of the village center.
The central level is retained. The new volumes are punctually inserted, reinforcing the sequence of voids, squares, lanes and openings, and integrating the level differences.
The room allocation is distributed over 7 volumes, 4 adjacent to the new space and 3 which connect the existing system. The arrangement of the volumes ensures compliance with all fire protection regulations and the acceptance according to Minergie standards. The volumes have an identical, identity-creating structure, a set of rules is created. The ground floors are open to public use. They open onto the empty spaces of the square. Apartments are located on the upper floors.
The entrances to the buildings are located in the side streets. Parking is located along the street. A traffic-calmed zone will be implemented to make the new area attractive to pedestrians. The two-story underground parking garage is directly under the new buildings and vertically connected to them.
